Piriformis Syndrome is something that I personally struggled with from having two kids, and it’s very common in athletes, runners, hikers, weight lifters and impacts anybody who’s active.
Your piriformis is a very small muscle that runs from the bottom of your spine to your femur, connecting them. When there’s a lot of movement in that area it can cause that muscle to tighten, and your sciatic nerve runs through and around that muscle, so a tight piriformis muscle can press on your sciatic nerve which causes a lot of pain down the back of your leg.
Watch this video where I demonstrate 3 quick and easy ways to loosen up the piriformis and relieve pain right away.
